Toronto: The National Council of Canadian Tamils (NCCT) launched the Thaanam food drive a few weeks ago with the effort to gather dry food items from the Tamil Canadian community to help serve those desperately in need across Canada.
This year, as many of you know, many have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, with many individuals losing jobs and many families relying on food drives more now than ever before. NCCT’s Thaanam is geared towards encouraging Tamil Canadian community members to donate food for low-income families throughout Canada. The NCCT also continues to support communities around the world devastated by natural disasters and other misfortunes. Food, supplies, and toy contributions will be accepted year-round, and supplies collected will be distributed to the Daily Bread Food Bank and through other aid organizations.
Please try and help bring some relief to those who are in desperate need of food for their families this year. No one should go hungry! Let us all work together to help by doing our share and showing that we care, particularly during this upcoming holiday season.
