SM Dance Crew donates to orphanage in India

Aadalam Va 2 proceeds help vulnerable communities

What a year it has been – 2020!

Remember our second annual show that took place earlier this year? Luckily before all of this mayhem! Aadalam Vaa 2, with our very special guest – Sandy Master himself!

Well, a huge shout out goes to all of you who came out and supported us. With your help, SM Dance Crew was able to raise funds to lend a helping hand to vulnerable communities across the globe.

We believe that it is our social responsibility to help out those who need it in whatever way we possibly can, and this was made possible only through your generosity and support.

This year, we had contributed $2000 to an orphanage in India சாராள் ஆதரவற்றோர் இல்லம். Our hearts are full when we hear that we were able to provide everyone sheltered in this orphanage with a meal for the day. Also, with this amount, the organization (led by a Tamil Eelam member himself) was able to purchase 10 sewing machines with the goal of creating a brighter future for their community. These sewing machines will serve to be a tool to generate income and will be a stepping stone to the beginnings of a potential business development. We strongly believe that our contribution will aid in the betterment of the members of this community and again, this would not have been made possible without all of your support.

We have also made contributions to less fortunate communities in Tamil Eelam. Please stay tuned as we’ll be providing you with those details very soon.

Aadalam Vaa was not only a stage for us to show case our talent and share our passion for dance, but also a medium through which we give back to our community. We like to emphasize once again, that without the help of all our wonderful sponsors ,parents and supporters, none of this would have been possible. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you all.?

SM Dance Crew would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our sponsors. Without you, the show would not have been such a tremendous success.

SM Dance Crew

SM (Sangeetha Mainthargal) Dance Crew was initially founded in 1999 by NimalG Aseervatham. It is important for us to showcase our Tamil pride from the get go, hence the pure Tamil name. As one of the first Tamil dance groups in Montreal, we have seen and taken part in the growth of many local dancers. One such talent is Thilack Osman, who has grown from being a student to now being a leader. Our collective passion for dance and desire to achieve have moulded us into a family, rather than dance crew. Over the years, we have grown to offer dance classes for students in 3 different locations (Parc Extension, Vaudreuil, and Cote Sainte Catherine). Our classes are open to any and all who would like to join us in sharing this love for dance. We perform at events and parties to showcase the talent and potential each member holds. It is with great humility that we accept the fact we are no where near being the best, but vow to give our best each and every single time.
